4th Grade EDU The EDU students learned about organic and geometric shapes. Using rulers, compasses, protractors, curlers and tracers the students created an abstract design. which showed overlapping. The children then chose a warm (red, yellow, orange, pink, peach, brown, gold) or cool (blue, green, purple, gray, silver black) color palette to paint in their designs.

6th Grade EDU The EDU students worked on making action silhouettes. Each student had to draw a person doing/ showing an action. All drawings were done on black construction paper and cut out. For the background we learned about what a monochromatic palette looks like. The students made a design and then had to pick one color and using white paint, they created various shades and tints to paint it in.

6th Grade The 6th graders used the childhood toy, a kaleidoscope for the inspiration for this lesson. We looked at and played with kaleidoscopes, examining the designs and patterns the beads created. Using a compass the students re-created a design that resembled what we saw through the kaleidoscope. Markers, crayons and colored pencils were used to add color.

5th Grade The 5th grade students made designs inspired by the pinwheel. In this lesson the children learned about writing in various fonts and changing the size to achieve a certain effect. Personalized drawings were added throughout the design to show each student's own personality.

4th Grade The 4th grade students made winter landscapes using chalk Pastel. Each students created a scene showing a foreground, middle ground and background. We explored the blending an d mixing capabilities of chalk pastel and incorporated them into our pictures. Some students opted to use snow glitter for a bit of holiday sparkle!

4th Grade EDU The EDU students learned about various habitats and the animals that live in them. Each student choose an animal and sculpted it out of model magic. They then created the environment or habitat it lives in by making a 3-D Diorama.

5th Grade The 5th grade students made observational drawing of pumpkins on diffuser paper. The diffuser paper allowed the students to create a tie-dye effect. The pumpkins where then cut out and put into a scene or landscape. Oil pastel was used for color and blending.
