6th Grade

The 6th grade students of the Blodgett/Pruett and Miles/Ciampa teams have just completed a unit on mask making. The students used plaster craft to model their masks based off of individual sketches or replicas of known characters. The masks were painted with acrylic paints and decorated using gems, sequence, feathers, pipe cleaners, pom-poms etc.. Each mask, even though all derived from the same mold, show how creative this group of students are!

What's Going On In Art 4th Grade: The beginning of the month was focused on the Mexican holiday Dia De Los Muertos or Day of the Dead. The students learned about this Mexican tradition and it's importance in the culture. We made paper collages of the famous Sugar Skulls in celebration!  4th Grade EDU: The EDU students learned about Warm & Cool Colors. We used various shapes to create a composition that the students would then paint in with either a warm color palette or cool color palette. Watercolor was the medium for this lesson, allowing the students to also work with various shades of color. Currently the 4th grade students are learning about Native American Weaving. 4th Grade EDU The EDU students learned about various habitats and the animals that live in them. Each student choose an animal and sculpted it out of model magic. They then created the environment or habitat it lives in by making a 3-D Diorama.
